You may have seen some content creators sharing portrait videos to YouTube with the hashtag ‘#shorts’ in the title or caption. Or you may not have heard of it at all!

So, what exactly are YouTube Shorts?

Here’s what you should know!

  • YouTube Shorts are vertical (i.e. portrait) videos with a duration of up to 60 seconds.

  • Shorts videos may be shown on your channel and on the ‘Shorts shelf’ homepage.

  • Shorts is currently in beta. Users in India can currently access the short-form video creator, but creators elsewhere are encouraged to upload short portrait videos (up to 60 seconds long) with the hashtag #Shorts in the title or description.

According to YouTube, the Shorts camera will make is easy to cpature short-form videos, with the option of choosing music, speed control and hands-free recording (sound familiar, anyone?).
